By an HVAC professional. We observed it starting, running, and shutting down properly twice before removing it. There were no issues in the history. A control board has many functions. The most reliable way to confirm it works properly is to actually see it in operation working properly. After checking in the furnace, the circuitboard was removed from the case and inspected closely, to make sure there are no loose or broken parts or bad solder connections.
