This is a Programmable ECM Motor Controller, also referred to as an ECM Module. It is a genuine OEM Carrier part. Programmed for a specific ECM Blower Motor in specific models of Carrier and Bryant high-efficiency furnaces. Even if all other numbers and specs match exactly if you are purchasing this for anything except a Carrier or Bryant Furnace with HD44RE122 on the Blower motor label, it is not the correct part. This is a Genteq ECM Motor Controller also known as an ECM module with the following part numbers. This ECM Motor Controller is programmed for use in a Carrier (Bryant or Payne) Furnace blower motor with the following part numbers. GE ECM 3.0 Blower Motor 5SME39HXL3006A. And Carrier part number HD44RE122. ECM’s are programmed and or wired to work with specific applications. The part numbers and specifications are very important. If the ECM part numbers and specs above do not match the ECM you are replacing exactly – and / or you are planning to install it in something other than Carrier or Bryant furnace with HD44RE122 on the motor – this is NOT the correct part, and you are taking a chance it will not work. Often though it will not work properly – it will either run at only one speed, or it won’t work at all. I do everything in my power to people from purchasing a module that will not work properly in their equipment. There is no reason for this to happen. If you’re not sure this is the correct part, or you’re not sure you need an ECM Module please don’t guess! I encourage you to please write BEFORE purchasing and I will be glad to help! Checked in a working furnace with an ECM Checker by an HVAC Professional. The ECM checker we used does a very thorough check. It interrupts the signal from the furnace takes over operation of the motor through the ECM module and confirms condition of both module and motor. When we decided to sell these, we invested in this tool because it does a much more thorough check than the basic ECM checkers that measure of voltage and resistance, which is the type provided by most employers. After checking, these are secured on a shelf in my home. No one else has access to them. The part you see in the photos is the part you will receive. WHY IS MY GUARANTEE DIFFERENT FOR HVAC PROFESSIONALS VERSUS OTHERS? Manufacturers and suppliers of HVAC equipment and parts recommend installation and servicing only by licensed HVAC professionals. Many if not most suppliers of HVAC equipment and parts will only sell to licensed HVAC contractors. Licensed HVAC Professionals typically must successfully complete a significant amount of training and hands on experience as an apprentice, and pass tests to prove their competence. While it is possible for someone who is not an HVAC Professional to fix their own equipment- it is significantly more likely they could have issues than an HVAC professional. It’s not enough to see a service code pointing to the blower motor. That could be caused by several issues not just an ECM module. It’s also not enough to see your ECM module burned up inside. That’s often caused by another issue in your furnace.. anything causing your power motor to work hard harder than it was intended can show up by ruining the ECM module. To check and confirm an ECM module is the issue requires the use of an ECM checker, or the knowledge of how to measure voltage and resistance and what the results should be. This is not something most people are able to do. A part like this can be easily damaged by improper installation. Just one wire in the wrong place can ruin it. If you have another issue in your furnace, like an airflow restriction, a bad wiring connection, a short in the motor and more… These are the type of things that could have ruined your ECM module and they could also damage this one. I can’t look at this and see if it works properly. And that Furnace must be working to check it. That’s not likely. I do my best to ensure this. As many detailed photos..
